Privacy policy
QRVerse (dev.avryn.qrverse) · Avryn · Effective November 2, 2026
QRVerse is a QR code and barcode scanner and generator developed by Avryn. We run no servers of our own, require no account and do not sell personal data. This page explains what data is processed, where, and by whom.
1. Data that stays on your device
- Camera: camera frames are used only to detect codes and are processed on your device by Google ML Kit (offline model). Frames are never stored or sent anywhere.
- Images you pick to scan: the app reads only the images you select through the Android photo picker; it does not access your photo library.
- History, notes, favorites and settings: stored in the app's private storage on your device. You can turn history off, delete single entries or clear everything in the app.
- The content of your codes (links, Wi-Fi passwords, account numbers, contacts…) is never sent to us or to ad networks.
- Code images saved to your gallery, exported CSV files and shared content are only created when you explicitly ask for them.
2. Permissions
- Camera: to scan codes.
- Wi-Fi state and change: to join a Wi-Fi network from a code, only when you tap "Connect".
- Vibrate: feedback when a code is detected.
- Internet and network state: to load ads in the free version and for the Google libraries described in sections 4–6. Scanning and creating codes work without Internet access.
3. Backup
The app uses Android's backup service. Settings are always backed up. Scan history is included only when the backup is end-to-end encrypted or during a direct device-to-device transfer. Backups live in your Google account; we cannot access them.
4. Ads (free version)
The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads and prevent fraud, Google may collect your advertising ID, IP address, device information and your interactions with ads. Ads never appear on the camera scanner or next to payment codes.
- Where required by law (European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland and others), the app asks for your consent before loading ads; you can change your choice in Settings › Privacy options.
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android's Google/Privacy settings.
- How Google uses data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
5. Remove-ads purchase
The remove-ads purchase is handled by Google Play. We only receive the purchase status (purchased or not) to turn ads off; payment details are processed by Google and never visible to us. Once purchased, the app does not initialize the ads library and loads no ads.
6. Third-party libraries
- Google ML Kit (on-device code detection) may send Google diagnostic and usage data about the library (such as device information, versions and performance). This data contains no images and no code content.
- Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google Play Billing: see sections 4 and 5.
The app uses no other analytics or tracking tools.
7. Opening other apps
When you choose to open a link, add a contact or calendar event, call, send an SMS or email, or open a map, QRVerse hands the relevant content to the app you choose. From then on, that app's privacy policy applies.
8. Children
QRVerse is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Deleting your data
All app data lives on your device: clear history in the app, clear the app's data in Android settings, or uninstall the app to remove everything. We keep no copies that would need deleting.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date at the top.
